The English Springer Spaniel was originally bred as a hunting dog. Specifically, they were used to “flush” or “spring” game, which means they would chase birds into flight so that hunters could spot them. English Springer Spaniels were also trained to retrieve game.

This breed is a very alert, happy, and focused breed that is known for its warm and loving personality. They have upbeat personalities and a warm and approachable demeanor.
